Razor, there is no purpose in those actions.

Irrelevant on how you see this as some sort of petty revenge, it's not going to happen.

General / World of Stunting - Migration Updates
« on: January 06, 2011, 04:40:20 pm »
18/04/2011 Update - The server is running and stable. The IP is 81.88.24.200:7777. Also you may have noticed the forum is back to normal.

Hey everyone,

I'll be using this topic to keep everyone updated on the status of migration, basically telling you how long it will be until you can play on your favourite server again!d
You have been warned, this may be a lengthy process, however we're optimistically hoping for the server to be online within around 72 hours.

The current plan is to restore a backup image of the server/forums on the new server, of course, all new posts made after this image will be lost, so don't go writing your life story on here.
The server will first be installed on the french server, whilst the forums will reside on the English server. This may prove to be horrible to set up, but we'll give it a go. In theory, this will give us an extremely fast gaming and forum experience, with a 1gbit server connection; that's 10x faster than our old server!

Currently, I haven't ballsed anything up yet.
That being said, I haven't really started migration yet.
Ah well, check back to see how things are going, and remember to spread the word that WoS is back!

Elliot.

Update 1: 07/01/2011.
The server backup has been successfully created. After quickly downloading it, i've extracted it to the horror that it's about 3.5GB uncompressed. I'll begin the process of sending this to the new servers today, which should be bundles of joy

Update 2: 07/01/2011
Surprisingly, I've managed to upload the extreme package quite easily, and I've produced a backup of the forums. I'll just need to install the web server side of things, then i'll restore the forum. Simples.

I was just about to say nearly exactly the same as Tina,

The forum software already has this built in, no need to change anything. Just manually type it into your browser if you need to.

« on: November 18, 2010, 01:48:46 pm »
Hello WoS members,

We appreciate your patience during our down time. We were unable to restore the server and forums for awhile until a backup became available. Some things may be missing however we will try and restore them. If you come across any bugs etc. please report them on Other problems board or sent a PM to Owners.

The backup we uploaded was from June so some of you may not be able to log into your accounts if so please register again.

Once again thanks for your patience during this down time.

Ban Appeal. / Re: I don't even know.
« on: June 24, 2010, 09:20:23 pm »
I can assure you that this is all just a misunderstanding. As I said before, I was simply stating there was a problem. I enjoy spending time on WoS and would've left otherwise. As I also said before, I wouldn't be trying to get unbanned if I thought that WoS was shit.

This Ban Appeal should've been for Nka19, but I already know that he's going to unban you. Therefore there's no point in waiting for his verdict.

Unbanned

Have a nice day!

I mean no offense by this, but I believe you just don't understand the phrase because of a difference in nationality. The phrase is used to describe a situation where a problem is arising. I was not saying WoS was shit. I was saying what was happening to WoS was shit. The hacker and people disobeying the rules were what was happening. Thats why I said "has gone" instead of "is".
I assure you that I fluently speak the English language as my native language and my only language. I seem to understand that "has gone to shit" means that it has already gone to shit from the correct English phrasing system. If you would've said "WoS is going to shit because of rule breakers", then you would've been getting accross the point that you now claim you were trying to make the entire time.

If I had thought it had gone to shit in the manner you're thinking of, why wouldn't I just leave? Why would I be trying to get unbanned? I wouldn't be here right now if I didn't give a crap about the server. I wouldn't of gotten Brendon online to ban that hacker either. I was simply referring to the problems that were currently happening with the server, not the server itself.

Yes those problems are totally our fault.

You misunderstand what I had said, though. I meant at that moment. It was going to shit because there were currently no admins on to ban the hacker and mute the flamers. It's a phrase used to point out a problem happening at the present moment. I was saying it was going to shit because of hacker in there causing a commotion and causing a couple of people to flame. If I didn't like the server, I wouldn't of been there in the first place.

I don't see how "I see WoS has gone to shit", is in any way related to the present tense.
