I think metal evolved from rock.. But the genre they used should be metalcore or screamo ( shit that emo's listen to ) .. Anyway eeee .. im better not going to vote .

Well almost everything good evolved from rock.
Well most of it Supposed, because Rock music isnt pure, has many influences.
