Youtube Copyright Tutorial
« on: August 28, 2009, 10:07:42 am »
Hey Guys,

I thought this vid might be useful for people uploading videos with copyrighted music
It's basically a tutorial which helps you dispute their copyright claim, as you are using it legally.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_lVVZsJNfDE
Quote from: Video Description
This is the step-by-step process to get your audio back:

1) Go to "My Videos".
2) Select "Resolve Copyright" on the video you are having copyright issues with. OR, go to the video itself and choose "resolve copyright" from there.
3) Scroll down and pick the option "I want to learn more about this dispute process".
4) Scroll down and pick the option "Take me to the dispute form".
5) Pick option #2 and PASTE the following statement into the text bar next to it;

"Copyright Disclaimer Under Section 107 of the Copyright Act 1976, allowance is made for "fair use" for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, and research. Fair use is a use permitted by copyright statute that might otherwise be infringing. Non-profit, educational or personal use tips the balance in favor of fair use."

6) Fill out the rest of the info on the page. Use your REAL name where it asks for it. Choose "Continue" when all information has been filled out.
7) Scroll down on the next page and select "Submit dispute".

Within 2-3 minutes your video's audio should be back!

I hope this has helped a few people out

eXpie.

This is also a fast way of getting your YouTube account suspended and facing lawsuits for abusing the copyright claim. It's there to prevent videos from having content which is not allowed to be shown on YouTube by third party users. True, YouTube blocks some songs wrongfully that actually do not have law against them to use the song. However if it's found that you are abusing this feature in order to allow your video to use copyrighted content which specifically is not allowed, your video will be removed and you may face a lawsuit if the company preceeds to since copyright claims are a legal action.

This is a good tutorial to explain to people how to go about it. However I advise you that if you love your YouTube account, and don't want it deleted/banned. Then before doing this process, make sure the content in your video is NOT actually copyrighted for public video streaming usage.

Its really Funny how You tube had blocked some songs that were user created by a few of my friends, now when i say user created i mean they did not play any instruments they simply created it using some type of program.

Then i told You tube about they, they needed to confirm with the song, the artist(s) and they unblocked the audio, however i asked why they did this without being unsure and they simply said, and dont get me wrong but im putting this in clearer way" We cannot allow anyone to play, edit, or input audio that is not their own, or without rights because of some companies threatening to sue us, however if it is user created and is blocked, please contact consumer services" or something similar i am not sure as i deleted the message -.-

ANYWAY the point is, You tube DOES wrongfully block songs sometimes but hey..just message them about it instead of getting your account banned/suspended
I play on consoles, because my PC doesn't exist.  Here is my Gamertag/PSN.  Feel free to add me.
