Match 1
Supposed2: Really sloppy entry, you got lucky there with the no show, try using calmer, more laid back songs for such uninterrupted editing, re-record the clips if there are camfucks in them & try choosing colors that complement the music in order to create atmosphere, same goes with the fx, find ones that really fit with the pace & overall theme & try to sync them more to the music. This was way too simple for the music you chose & the fx/colors didn't match at all with anything. With that in mind, gl in the future matches!

Match 2
Eddie: When working with really contrasting, impulsive songs, especially dubstep, you should use really saturated, colourful effects, the film damage look just doesn't work with these songs the way you used it. You could also try adding a vignette with a slight color (low opacity white, or something else that looks good) in the center, in that case, whatever effects you apply (especially tv simulators) will look a lot better than they would with out that. To sum it up, don't use such dull/bland colors on the cc, make the vid as contrastive & impulsive as the song is, use a lot more sync, if you don't like using too many effects, at least do more synced cuts & at least use some color balances to complement the song. good luck with the upcoming matches!
Match 3
Afterlife: Really nice entry, tho you could've made the cc more fitting to the music & those media generators didn't really look that good, the angles were pretty solid, but uninspired. Overall some of the effects didn't really fit with the song & the CC did bring the atmosphere down quite a bit, but it was good nonetheless.

BlackDeath: Really love the ideas & the executions, most of the effects really fit with the song & made the vid really interesting to watch, good job on that. The negative aspect here is definitely the angles, try to keep them more steady & don't allow camfucks, try to keep in mind that your objective is to make the stunt better with your editing & to do that, you need to make the stunt easily understandable & great looking, I understand, that these kinds of 360 shots & whatnot fit with the music, but you shouldn't overdo it, make at least 1 clearly visible, good angle of the stunt & then you can make another 1 with your own, stylistic approach. there was also 1 TV simulator, that imo didn't have any reason to be there, but other than that this was a really good entry.

Tough match, both did really good, but I'd have to go with BlackDeath, gl in the upcoming matches!

Match 4
Sasha: No criticism needed here, loved everything about your edit, the pan/crop ideas were really good, everything was well-synced, loved the masking & the CC was also somewhat fitting, creating a nice pace & atmosphere. Keep it up this way & you might end up in the finals/ Good luck!

Match 5
Mustapha: That was just so awesome! The atmosphere reminded me of driving in a car, late at night & listening to some late night radio, really ambient feel you've got going on there. The effects could've been somewhat better, but most of the time, they work, the colors at the very beginning are a bit dull, but they also fit with the theme. I just can't get enough of that atmosphere, it is that freakin' awesome! GL in the finals... I mean, in the upcoming match  ^_^

Match 6

CW: Well, tbh I didn't like it that much... The colors seemed a bit dull & monotonous, there was some depth of field that worked, but mostly there was either none, or none I could see, other than that, the angles were good, except for that eagle eye one, didn't really like that, the effects were perfectly fitting, the atmosphere was the strong side, obviously, kinda ambient/surreal feel to it. GL in the upcoming matches!

Match 7
Both no-showed.
Match 8
Aristo: NB Ghost is a very hard effect to use right, especially when you apply it to your CC, you don't want to overdo it, otherwise it really looks bad, try using glow 7 other effects for such looks & don't use ghost, unless it really looks good. The shakes were just too much, meaning that it's the only effect you can use, doesn't mean that you should use it everywhere you can, try to be more subtle with it & find places in song where it really fits. It was ok towards the end, but still a little too much, that kind of magnitude/velocity should only be used for short, synced beats. GL in the upcoming matches!
Match 9
Shifftee: Lovely vid, really great retro feeling, good work on the atmosphere & the pace, the sync is also spot on & the angles are great as well. The CC could've been less contrasted to give more of the retro feel to it, otherwise it was nice & simple.
Mxz: Wow, really great color choice there, imo fits perfectly with the song & gives a great, relaxing atmosphere. love the pan/crops & some nice ideas on the angles there, tho some of them were a bit choppy. That overlay screen could've been feathered out a little to blend in with the main clip tho.

Damn, this is a really, really hard choice, both did a fantastic job with the objective given... But, I will have to go with mxz 'cause I love his atmosphere more than Shifftee's & his angles also seem somewhat more innovative. Great job guys & gl mxz in the upcoming matches!
Match 10
Bany: The colors were really dull & uninspired, which really brings down the vid quite a notch. Other than that, it was a pretty solid entry, the color effects were nice & fitting, the sync could've been better, at times it was really off. I wouldn't exactly call it overediting tho, it's pretty tamed & perfectly understandable.
ZealousR: That was really choppy, if you're having fps issues, record your stunts with 15 or 10 fps & put the playback rate to 1,666 or 2,5. The editing was really dull & didn't fit with the song, you should've used more colourful effects that fit with the song.

Match 11
Kast: Pretty solid entry, but i think you can do a lot better. The CC is generic & kinda dull, the effects are fitting, but seemed kinda plain for you. The overall pace did have some energy for it & was somewhat impulsive, but the CC really did bring it down for me.

White: Really great CC & nice manipulation of sun beams on the angles, tho you could've used a tad more effects, other than that, i really enjoyed the atmosphere you created.

My vote would go to White.
Match 12
Basium: The beginning was really awesome, loved the random effects & the carelessly paced editing, the effects, as random as they were, actually fit with the vid, you've got a nice, unique style going on there. Towards the end it got a little dull tho, too much repetition & not enough effects to make up for it, that text was totally unnecessary. Other than that, it was really enjoyable, tho work on your CC, try to make it as colourful, as your effects are   ^_^ GL in the upcoming matches!

Match 13
Pullman: Really awesome entry dude. Loved the colors, made me feel like I was on the beach  ^_^ The color changes were also really great & the angles were fine as well. Tho those art beats were imo unnecessary & somewhat ruined the vid, other than that, really great atmosphere you got there, keep it up!
Petar: Really nice use of multiple layers & color balance there, great sync as well. Tho i didn't really feel it, your vid seemed kinda uninspired for me, I think it might be the night time & blueish CC that didn't really speak to me.
I guess it's personal preference, but my vote goes to Pullman, just 'cause I liked the atmosphere he created way more than that of Petar's.
Match 14
Pulp: Really great CC, gives the feeling of watching a hip-hop based clip. Your ideas were really good, the sync was nice & the effects were generally fitting, except for the ripple, that one didn't really fit in with the bunch.
Electric: Funny, how you both got similar CC's, I hope it's just a coincidence  ^_^ This didn't feel as much of the hip hop song tho, 'cause of the acoustic music along with the hip-hop theme. I mean, everything was really nice & fitting, but it just gave more of an ambient feel than a hip-hop one. Bad song choice, I guess  ^_^
No, but actually, this was a hard one, 'cause both of you did so very good with the effects & CC's, leaving me no choice, but to judge the music itself.
My vote goes to pulp.
Match 15
Both no-showed.

Editing tournaments are for improving, that's why I tried to be as constructive as i can & reviewed each of the vids posted, so that all of the contestants may improve & learn from their mistakes. Sorry for the grammar mistakes I may have made whilst writing this, I'm in no mood to proof-read all of that.

To the organizators: Please make seperate rep packs for each of the matches, it's incredibly irritating to watch the same shit over and over and over and over again, it's not that hard to get good stunts, you know. It's just really irritating & annoying.

Exactly, it was uninspired, due to my total lack of motivation (track which isn't my style, not to mention the fact it was already rocked out by zenaku + the stunts I had to edit on).

I respect your opinion (since you're probably the judge who analyzed it all the best), and I deserved to lose, dunno why 2 people voted for me there.
Best of luck to PullMan :3

I'm a fan of myself, you can be too:

Mustapha wanted me to judge so I said fine, didn't know the tournament will became so big and full of GTAS contesters that has lots of experience with editing tournametns. I was only in few stunting leagues and I run some which went out great. This is my first editing tournament and I was trying to judge it very carefully. There was 3 hard decisions there that take me some time to decide and I had to re-watch the entries a few times. And I stand with my decisions. But doing a big ass long explains I'm not really good at that.

It's not that complicated, just comment on the positive & negative aspects & then suggest how to fix the negative ones & give out some tips on how to make the edit better. You can't be wrong, it's your opinion, but it really doesn't serve much of a purpose if you don't stand your ground & explain it, thus making it much easier to defend, if needed, but most importantly, you can help others improve, and that's the very essence of editing tournaments, the constructive criticism & its consequences - improvement.

Good review determined.
I know my entry wasn't good that was my edit before I saw that I got the challenge wrong but meh I would rather lose fairly than no-show anyway (^-^)

I'm excited to see the next round. Things might get heated up :)
