Modding / Two recent signatues

I am not new to it to be honest, I've been going about a year but with large breaks in between, I realise that it's amateur compared to alot of peoples, but what are your tips? I always want to improve.

I realise that you were probably alot better, and I'd be interested to see some of your work =] I realise that on a gfx site I would be one of the newbs, but on sites like this my work is normally alot more thought out then others. But as I said, if youi could help me improve that would be great.

Well, I know that i'm not on at the moment really, but i'm going on holiday for two weeks, then after that if I see admino on then I will try and come on a bit to help out the admins. Cya then guys

Well, I've made two signatures recently and figured I would get some feedback.

This one I made a couple of weeks ago...

And this one I made just five minutes ago.

Edit: This is a couple of hours later but oh well. I just finished this for a friend.

I like it. the shading put on it all is very good, and a fair bit of detail put on the screws. My favourite part is actually your metal texture, it does exactly what you wanted it to. The pen tool work is good in the background, the prefer the lowest half but it is all good. I feel that it could be shrunk slightly though =] Keep up the good work.

First of all, I'm guessing you made this in Photoshop correct? I'm not a pro, or a noob at it, but i would say amateur's.

To begin, all you did was lower the opacity of the text, and slapped on a crappy stock photo.

So according to you, using 3 brushes from a brush set and playing around untill you got a good pattern, planning on where you would put them, and starting again if something goes wrong is a crappy stock photo with some text slapped on in 30 seconds? I understand that the others are not giving constructive criticism either, yet you didn't need to be such a jackass, especially when you seem to be unable to identify a brushed background from a stock image?
