Webcam problem...
« on: October 06, 2009, 06:58:46 am »
My webcam won't work on my PC. It's a Mikomi AP-7120U, and there is no disc for installation.
Can you help, please?

Try searching online/the makers website for a driver to install.

Both USB ports work.
I have tried searching for the drivers but they aren't the ones.

Hey Ryan,

Does it show up in "My Computer"?
Does it work in another Computer/Laptop?
What Windows OS are you running? If Vista make sure it is given access.
Does the button usually on top open any programs on your computer if pressed?
Get a refund on the WebCam and buy a better quality?
Make sure none of the cable is damaged in any way.
Is the lens cap taken off?

Hope one of these help.

Hello creativegta,

The software is installed on my PC but the followings don't show:

It doesn't show in "My Computer"
It works on my brothers computer.
I have Microsoft XP Dark Edition Rebirth V2, which is XP with a Win 7/Vista dress up.
Nothing opens when pressed.
The webcam is over a year old plus I don't have the receipt.
It's not damaged
There is no lense cover.

Regards,
MrBrooks.

It just sounds like you need some drivers or maybe the Webcam is dead. Mikomi sounds like a no name brand and most no name brand cams are really bad quality. My advice to you is find some drivers install them and if they don't work get yourself a Logitech or Microsoft webcam and you wont have any more problems.
