I live in Georgia and they have palm trees here. Plus it gets cold here =] Did I mention it was near the water, which means it was more cooler than other areas.

Water actually changes climate softer, which in my case (i live on an island, about the size of new york, but about a mile from any water) makes it warmer in the winter. so it doesnt make it cooler, the amplitude is just lower.

k, thats about everything we learned in the past 3 months in school, in geography...
