Hey Jay

What windows operation system did you install on it? If that laptop isn't strong enough to run it this might be the reason.
I once install some new Vista Black edition 2009 64-bit on my old PC and I was keep getting this blue screen errors so then I just installed good old XP Professional and it was all ok.

There could be lots of reasons. Old hardware, bad drivers, bad hardware, etc. Good luck trying to get it fixed I just recommend you try a different OS and if that doesnt work try different drivers AND if that doesnt work she probably needs a new laptop.

"Blue screen of death" is a screen which is shown because the memory on your system was overloaded, so in essence you basically need new Random Access Memory (RAM)

Well then its most likely your RAM. Try taking out the new RAM and see how it works and make sure the RAM you added is compatible with your computer. Some RAM sticks are very picky about certain motherboards and wont always work with all kinds.
