Hello World of Stunting community,

I have just bought an Alba M6638U Webcam, and it has been installed properly. One problem, it won't work on MSN for some reason.

I will be extremely pleased and grateful if you can help me.

not enough information, what does msn say? are you sure you have the latest drivers? why the f**k did u buy a nobrand webcam again?

Make sure you have checked all of the webcams configuration in both msn and windows. Windows Live Messenger is known to be picky about webcams so many will not be detected by it and there is usually no way to force them to be detected. My advice, as Ive said before, is go for Logitech or Microsoft, trust me it will save you a huge headache.

Im telling you... if you want to webcam with msn go with Microsoft or Logitech... Microsoft or Logitech... Microsoft or Logitech

I have tested the webcam in my brothers PC, and it works fine on MSN. I have reinstalled MSN completely and it still won't work. Any ideas?

Stumpy: I'm not going to buy a Logitech or Microsoft if the Alba works.

Maybe your PC is missing a codec of some sort?

I don't know. I don't know how to check :/
I was thinking about doing a full reformat because some things aren't working properly anyway.

I was thinking about doing a full reformat because some things aren't working properly anyway.

It could be missing a codec or it could have a codec interfering with it. It really isnt worth finding out so maybe if you do re-format you can find out then.
