Hey guys, I just got $170NZDs & im looking for tips on....
A graphics card. :D
What I want is something that beats the lag, I don't worry about the looks alot. So a 512mb card should do it? I just need help on which card is best suited for me. I don't want to spend all of my money, 100 is MAX. Also I don't know about GFX Cards power, do they just take the same power that the motherboard gives it?
Pc Specs. (This is on top 10 fails on FailBlog.)
- AMD Sempron 1.5 CPU
- Sis intergrated graphics card 64 mb shared
- 512mb RAM DDR 400
- Lg DVD drive
- No idea on motherboard or power.
What games I usally play.
- Halo
- San Andreas (When it worked which it didn't)
- Unreal Tournament 2004
- I would really like to start playing games like Spore.
Hope you can help!

Spore is a whore, because of the large amounts of models it needs to load, it sometimes even brings my fps down to 10 (i get 30-60 on gta iv). since i dont know how much 1 NZD is in pounds/euros/USD i cant really tell you which card to buy. also im gonna need to know how many W your power supply gives and i need to know what motherboard you have to know if your motherboard supports AGP or PCI-E. the W should be written on your power supply somewhere, and you should be able to determine the model of your motherboard with a useful program called everest, to which i cant give you the link i guess? google helps

1.5GHZ Sempron and DDR RAM means it is most likely AGP. Finding a cheap AGP card that wouldn't be bottlenecked by that system is going to be very hard. If you do happen to have PCI-E then I could easily give you some choices for cards, so just find out whether you have AGP or PCI-E.

Wow you REALLY new to get a new PC because that thing is ancient. You need to find out the specs of your power supply too, but for something that old I would recommend something like a Radeon 9600 or a Geforce 6600. Good luck finding either one of those for AGP though and don't expect that system to even play San Andreas well.

You can find cheap PC pre-makes on eBay, or simply build your own for even cheaper. You can build a decent mid-range gaming rig for $350
