Rabid_Copy's Ban Appeal
« on: January 19, 2009, 12:23:58 pm »
In-GameName: Rabid_Copy
Age: 16
Admin That Banned You: Stumpy
Reason Given By Admin: *didn't see reason* He banned me due to using a mod that allowed me to alter gravity (on my side) to allow me to climb walls with vehicles.
Are You Sorry: Yes.
Will you read and accept /rules?: Yes.
Extra Info: I was just messing around with CLEO, to be honest, I wouldn't of expected to be perma-banned for something minuscule as that  seeing as it wasn't hurting anything. Oddisy didn't seem to mind me using a portal gun mod right in front of him.

Unfortunatly modifications that alter client memory addresses are in violation of the San Andreas Multiplayer Modification Terms Of Service.

I'm guessing I'm just banned forever now? Never see me around here again seeing as I'm a sick, twisted hacker degenerate. Good bye friends and acquaintances, it was fun stunting. (on another note: wouldn't anyone using a form of mod be automatically breaking the terms of service? *coughseveralwellknownherecough*)

Unfortunatly not, skin modifications are not in confliction with the San Andreas Multiplayer Modification Terms Of Service. As I have already stated in the post above this current quote that modifications which modify memory addresses in San Andreas Multiplayer are in confliction with the Terms Of Service.

Nobody said you were banned for life, but since you have to flip out in your last post and just try to play the victim, then that's fine you don't have to continue with the Ban Appeal if you don't want to.

Hmm, I wouldn't of "flipped" out if everything was a bit less vague here. Getting a message that your banned and it not saying for how long is already misleading, not knowing if it was a temporary ban or not. And your last post didn't hint at any continuation of the ban appeal going through. The only message I got out of it was: "Oh it looks you made a big no-no...*no further explanation*". Again on another note, I don't want to be a double standard finger pointer, but how does altering game speed play in the ToS?

Excuse me, what are you talking about? I don't remember ever saying altering game speed is in favour of the Terms Of Service...altering game speed would be a memory address modification and it would be against the Terms Of Service.

What's so vague? You used a memory hack, you were banned, you made a ban appeal which is being processed. What is so vague about the situation at this current time?

No, you didn't get what I said. I meant by that, I have seen milo34 and creativegta driving in slow-motion on bmx's before, jerking back and forth due to the desyncing. They were openly playing around with CLEO mods in the server. Seeing that they are able to get away with it disturbs me. Also, why is it I can modify anyone's post on this forum, I just accidentally modified yours trying to reply.

Well I'm sorry to hear that they could do that. If I had video evidence of them using it then they would be banned also. The fact is that you got caught, and they didn't. We can't just ban people without seeing accurate proof of what they are supposedly doing.

Oh, you could ask a couple of others that were in the server that night, and they would note that it did happen, but that's not the point I'm trying to get across. If someone cheats while someone of higher authority isn't around to see it, it doesn't matter. If someone cheats while someone of higher authority is around, it matters if they even saw anything going on. This brings up how bad is cheating considering it goes unpunished as long as no one saw it or reported it. If cheating is breaking this ToS you speak of that I have yet to ever find, why is it so situational of it being taken care of or not. Stumpy caught me because I was visibly cheating, my NRG blatantly sticking to a building, but what if I had simply gone to one of the many /worlds and cheated, would I of been detected? I doubt it. The whole WoS staff could be on, but not see what was going on, unless everyone took it upon themselves to scan through every world monitoring everybody constantly. Then the severity of cheating, say you have someone stunt blocking via hacking, where they could teleport in front of anybody at anytime to ruin the victim's stunting. Obviously, that's worth a ban filled with anger. But then you have somebody just having fun, sure it's cheating, and in some way harming something, then you get a "you're suppose to have wholesome fun here, but you had wholesome fun the wrong way" ban. I truly meant no harm to anything, yet somehow it was like I just punched a fragile piece of pottery. I'm not trying to prove my innocence here, I'm not trying to incriminate fellow players.

I understand that, however I did not create the SA-MP Terms Of Service, contact team@sa-mp.com for more information on allowing modifications to the client if your that willing to do so. I can't especially as an ex-member of the SA-MP Team support memory modifications to be used in my server.

By the way, do you honestly think that if your in a different world administrators can't see you?
